Ever wanted to make real soap from scratch but wanted someone with you to help? That’s exactly why this class is built for beginners. You’ll make traditional cold process soap, mix your batch from start to finish, and pour it into 4 molds to take home.
We’ll gear up with an apron, goggles, and gloves (all provided), then weigh and mix our oils. Next you’ll make your lye solution, and while it cools, you’ll choose your scent and clay color. Once everything is ready, we’ll blend it all together, stir in your clay and scent, and pour into your mold. You’ll head home with your soap filled, labeled, and ready to harden on the counter.
This is a hands-on class with a few safety requirements. Everyone must wear the provided goggles and gloves the entire time. Masks are optional, but you are encouraged to bring your own. All participants must be 18 years old.
Class time is about 2 hours. Your soap will be ready to unmold in 24 to 48 hours, and it cures for 4 to 6 weeks for the best, hardest bars.
Everything is included: all materials, your mold of 4 soaps to take home, and simple printed instructions for unmolding and curing. Spots are limited to 12 seats.
